When Will Gen X Retire?

Hey there, fellow Gen Xers! If you’ve clicked on this article, you’re probably sitting there, sipping your coffee (or maybe a glass of wine—no judgment here), thinking about the big question:

When will I retire? Well, grab your reading or drinking glasses and let’s dive straight into this topic which is the 64 million-dollar question.

When will Gen X Retire? The pressure is real and building up anxiety and stress that you don’t need at this stage of your life and is like a dripping tap in the night feeling.

The “Sandwich Generation” Strikes Again

First off, let’s acknowledge the elephant in the room: we’re the Sandwich Generation! Yes, we’re sandwiched between our aging parents who need our help and our kids who still think we can solve all their problems. We stand strong for them all, but we can’t do everything for them. So, while you’re juggling your job, family responsibilities, and maybe even a side hustle or two, the thought of retirement can feel like trying to find a Wi-Fi signal in the middle of the woods. As the last curtain call is closing in, the big question is still when will Gen X retire?

The Average Retirement Age for Gen X

Now, let’s get down to business. According to reports, the average retirement age for Gen X is around 65. So “When will Gen X retire?” Let’s be real, that number can be as flexible as your yoga routine. Some of us might be ready to hit the retirement beach bed early, while others are thinking, “Nah, I’ll just keep grinding until I hit 75.” It all depends on your financial situation, health, and how much you love your job, but will the boss want an old person hanging around? Do you really want that to be your retirement plan, hit and hope?

Financial Planning: The Name of the Game

Let’s talk money here, because, let’s face it, retirement isn’t just about sipping piña coladas on a tropical beach (though that does sound nice). It’s about ensuring you have enough savings to live comfortably. Here are some tips to get that retirement fund rolling:

  1. Start Saving Early: If you’re in your 40s or 50s, you may feel like you’re late to the party, but it’s never too late to start. Set aside a portion of your income for retirement savings. Aim for at least 15% if you can swing it. It’s going to be hard, very hard, but the pain of doing nothing, won’t be felt until you walk out of your workplace for the last time.
  2. Pensions: If your employer offers a pension plan, take advantage of it. Contribute enough to get that sweet company match. It’s like free money! A little win in this dark moment, but you might be too late to start.
  3. Consider Other Investments: Stocks, bonds, mutual funds—you’ve got options! Or have you? Do you have any money to invest, or is it supporting your aging parents and children?

It doesn’t have to be this way if you are willing to hold your hand up, admit you have a problem, and look for solutions. Are you willing to do that? Yes? Then keep reading to the end then.

    Don’t PANIC!  There’s still time!

    If you’re reading this, thinking:

    • “Looks like I’ll be working well past my retirement date”
    • “There’s just no way I’ll ever have enough funds to support myself through retirement”
    • “I need to find a way to enjoy whatever hand is dealt to me!”

Just know that I was just like you not so long ago.

    Fretting, stressed, anxious!

I wanted and desperately needed something, some way, I could start building now for the future.

Something I could do at MY pace, in my free time.

Something exciting! In an industry that’s classy, sexy, lucrative and fun.

Something anyone, anywhere, regardless of skills, background or experience could do.

I hold a strong belief that you Only Get What You Give! And…if you help enough people get what they want, yours will arrive too.

I needed a “people helping people business”, and after sorting, sifting, wasting money and time…I hit the JACKPOT!

I not only researched the hell out of it, I sat on it for a year waiting for it to fall apart (but it didn’t). During that year, on a hunch, I decided to put some things together to help others build this business which I’ve aptly named the ‘Travel For Life’ Club.

I wanted to share so much about this breakthrough that I wrote a Mini-Guide about the business, the industry, the possibilities and more.

Grab your Free copy today! It won’t be a waste of your time, I promise.

But, if you’re still sitting here, a bit leery about all this, just know that I was just like you.

I took a shot, made a lot of mistakes and being GenX myself and hearing the horror stories from friends, I decided that’s who I’m taking with me on this journey.

Ask yourself right now, would a potential 200,2000 or even 20,000 per week be enough to provide you with Relief, Prosperity and Freedom during retirement?
